Transforming into Max Black

Hello dearest bunnies!

For the longest time I’ve been a fan of Promise Tamang, a makeup artist and beauty guru on youtube, who does these awesome transformations into famous people or characters. She is amaze-balls, and I’ve always wanted to try doing what she does, so yesterday I did.

I’m hoping you can tell by the picture that I’m Max Black (Kat Dennings) from 2 Broke Girls, a show I recently fell in love with. Since she is pretty as heck I thought, “well, why not turn into Max Black for a couple of hours?”:

Há imenso tempo que so fã da Promise, uma makeup artist e guru de beleza no youtube, que faz umas transformações maravilhosas para ficar igual a personagens ou famosos. Ela é mega-ri-boa, e sempre quis tentar fazer o que ela faz, portanto ontem fi-lo.

Espero que consigam ver pela imagem que me transformei na Maz Black (Kat Dennings) de 2 Broke Girls, uma serie pela qual que apaixonei. Já que ela é bonita como tudo, pensei, “bem, porque não tranformar-me na Max Black por umas horas?”:

It was really kind of awkward to do the lips: her upper lip is bigger than mine and her lower lip is smaller. Also, overall, her mouth is much bigger than mine! Took me a while to get it looking ok! But I think it looks good, considering those are basically fake lips! hah. Makeup is such a good way to lie. Here’s a picture of her face and my normal face for reference:

Foi um bocado estranho fazer os lábios: o lábio superior dela é maior que o meu, e o inferior é menor. E no geral a boca dela é muito maior que a minha! Demorei um bocado para que parecesse bem! ;as acho que está bom, considerando que são quase lábios falsos! Hah. Maquilhagem é uma boa forma de mentir. As you can see, my face is much rounder than hers, so that was another issue I had to over come. Jeesh, the woman is way too pretty for life, how can I compete with that face?

Hi bunnies!

Today I thought I’d share a look I made not long ago. It sort of makes me think of moths. Which is creepy because I hate them like hell… But there you have it!

I made this one night when I was particularly stressed out. It looks kind of cool, but it really had no purpose, it was wasted on a few miserable pictures…! What can I say? I’ll consider it practice.

I used a sleek palette for the eyes, using gold, copper and brown glittery colours on top of black liner, which I used to cover up the whole eyelid area.

Olá coelhos!

Hoje apeteceu-me partilhar um look que fiz à pouco tempo. Faz-me pensar em traças. O que é assustador, porque eu odeio traças… Mas pronto!

Fiz este look durante a noite quando estava particularmente stressada. Tem um aspecto interessante, mas não teve nenhum propósito, foi gasto numas poucas fotos…! Que posso dizer? Vou considerar que tive a praticar.

Usei uma paleta da sleek, usando cores com glitter, dourado, cobre e castanho, por cima de eyeliner preto que usei para cobrir toda a pálpebra.

Pre-presentation Makeup extravaganza

Tuesday I finally earned the title “Master”. You can now call me Master Miranda!

Well, the day before I was crowned Master Miranda, I had a bit of a crisis, and my way to deal with a crisis is always to have fun with makeup – nothing takes my mind off of bad things as makeup does. So this time I decided to break in my new Sleek makeup palette  from the PPQ Shangri-la Collection, the Respect Palette 892, and make two eye looks, one more wearable than the other. Of course I didn’t go out like this, but maybe I should have! Hah. I imagine everyone looking at my as if I’d lost it – but yeah, I really kinda did lose it that day, thus the half and half makeup look!

Olá coelhos!

Terça-feira finalmente ganhei o título de “Mestre”. Já me podem tratar por Mestre Miranda!

Bem, no dia anterior a ser coroada de Mestre Miranda, tive uma pequena crise, e a minha forma de lidar com crises é sempre divertir-me com maquilhagem – nada me distrai de coisas más como maquilhagem. Por isso desta vez decidi estrear a minha nova paleta da Sleek da colecção PPQ Shangri-la, a Respect Palette 892, e fiz dois looks diferentes, um mais “utilizável” que o outro. Claro que não saí de casa assim, mas se calhar devia! Hah. Imagino as pessoas a olhar para mim como se tivesse pirado – mas sim, nesse dia estava um bocadinho maluquinha, daí o look metade-metade!

Cat Eye – Olho de Gato

Hi bunnies! How’s everyone today? :) I’m so goddamn tired! I spent all day yesterday turning my room around, and then I couldn’t sleep all night -.- Very uncool.

However! I’m feeling quite good right now, after a good exercising session! And since it is totally related, I thought of you, and decided to post another makeup I did while I was studying for and writing my dissertation!

Olá coelhinhos! Como estão todos? :) Eu estou morta! Passei ontem o dia todo a virar o meu quarto de pernas par o ar, e depois não preguei olho -.- Nada bom.

No entanto! Estou a sentir-me bastante bem agora, depois de um fantástico workout! E como está absolutamente relacionado, pensei em vocês, e decidi postar mas um look de maquilhagem que fiz enquanto estudava para e escrevia a dissertação!

And here it is! It’s kind of a reversed cat eye, since the “wing” is in the inner part of the eye. I really like how it makes my eyes look so feminine and feline like. Hope you enjoyed! See you next time!

Hot & Cold Makeup look – Look de maquilhagem Quente & Frio

I’ve been gone for waaaay too long, I know. My dissertation took over my entire life at some point, and I found it impossible to find time to write on the blog. Hope you haven’t forgotten about me!

Well, since I’ve been a  bad bad girl, I’ll redeem myself by sharing with you one of the makeup looks I had the time to photograph during this break that I took. I used it to my cousin’s BD party.

Coelhinhos!

Desapareci por tempo de maaais, eu sei. A minha dissertação invadiu a minha vida toda, e acabei por não arranjar tempo para escrever no blog. Espero que não se tenham esquecido de mim!

Bem, já que me portei mal, vou redimir-me ao mostrar-vos um dos looks de maquilhagem que tive a oportunidade de fotografar durante o meu intervalo blogueiro. Usei-o na festa de aniversário do meu primo.

 

 

 

And here we go! Hot & Cold as promised! I used a Bourjois orange and gold eyeshadow, which is the prettiest thing for summer, used two brown eye shadows to do my eye crease – one by Bourjois and one by Catrice – and a random white eye shadow from a no-name-brand palette on my brow bone, and the best part, on the bottom eye lashes I used a thick layer of a Kiko mascara in an electric blue, which I find absolutely lovely! Only one problem with the mascara: it isn’t waterproof. Nor heat proof. I mean, I normally end up with blue on either my lower lash line or on my fingers… (I have this tendency to rub my lower lash line, for some reason)

E aqui está! Quente & Frio, como prometido. Usei uma sombra laranja e dourada da Bourjois, que é a coisa mais bonita para o verão, usei duas sombras castanhas para o côncavo do olho – uma da Bourjois e uma da Catrice – e uma sobra branca aleatória de uma paleta sem marca no osso da sobrancelha, e a melhor parte, mas minhas pestanas inferiores usei uma camada grossa de uma máscara azul eléctrico da Kiko, que adoro! Só tem um problema, esta máscara: não é a prova de água. Nem à prova do calor. Por isso, normalmente acabo com azul ou de baixo do olho ou nos dedos… (tenho uma tendência aleatória para esfregar as pestanas inferiores)

Coelhos!! Olá, olá!! *festinhafestinhafestinha*

Como estão vocês neste belíssimo dia? Estou super mega bem humorada! Porquê? Não interessa para nada, a vida é boa :D

Então hoje decidi, não só mostrar-vos a minha maquilhagem, mas também mostrar-vos um fantástico ootd (outfit of the day = roupa do dia)! Excitante, huh?

Ah, there we go! Lovelyness happening in here, woop woop! I guess I should tell you about my clothes: my jeggings are from Gold Digger, and they are the most comfortable things in-the-world! My shoes are by Payma, they were so super cheap (two pairs for 12€!), and they are my favourite summer shoes ever. And this lovely linen shirt I’m wearing is by Escales, a brand I’ve never even heard of – quite honestly I bought this at a fair, from a lady who bought a bunch of clothes which didn’t make the quality cut in the factory (this shirt’s defect was that the last button hole was horizontal instead of vertical!), so I bought that for 5€. Yes, most of my things are cheap as heck lol.

I decided to take a picture of the products I used upon my face, go ahead and tell me if you can *actually* read anything -.-‘ I don’t think you can. If you know these products, I’ll give you a cookie for each you can name :D

E aqui está! Coisas fofas por todo o lado, woop woop! Acho que vos devia falar sobre a minha roupa: as minhas jeggings são da Gold Digger, e são a coisa mais confortável que Deus pôs à terra! Os meus sapatos são Payma, foram tão super baratos (dois pares por 12€!), e são os meus sapatos de verão favoritos. E esta camisa de linho maravilhosa é da Escales, uma marca da qual nunca ouvi falar – para ser honesta, comprei-a numa feira, na banca de uma senhora que tinha comprado um lote de roupas que não tinham passado na triagem de qualidade na fábrica (o defeito dela é que a última casa dos botões está horizontal em vez de vertical!), por isso comprei-a por 5€. Sim, a maioria das minhas coisas são super baratas lol.

Decidi tirar foto dos produtos que usei na cara, digam-me lá se conseguem ler algum *na verdade* -.-‘ acho que não. Se conhecerem os produtos, dou-vos uma bolacha por cada um que conseguirem acertar no nome :D

Hello there my loveliest, fluffiest bunnies!

I’ve been away for a while, I know. Bad bad me *slaps wrist*. It’s been such a yucky weather, I just feel like getting in my bed and sleep foreverrrr! Cold and yucky weather = a very unhappy and sleepy me. Well, anyways, enough talk about the weather and sleeping: makes me sound like an old lady, all I need now is to start enumerating my illnesses, I am right?

Today I bring you my interpretation of an Illamasqua’s face chart by Alex Box, Illamasqua’s Creative Director! It was fun as heck to make this look! But of course, since there always has to be something to drive me nuts, my camera, of course, didn’t want to play. So I’m stuck with my phone picture. God-freakin’-Damnit. Better than nothing, I suppose! Enjoy!

Olá coelhinhos mais lindinhos e fofinhos!

Há uns tempos que não venho vindo aqui, eu sei. Feia eu *dá estalada no pulso*. Tem estado um tempo tão nojentinho, só me apetece enfiar-me na cama e dormir para sempreee! Tempo frio e nojentinho = uma eu muito infeliz e sonolenta. Mas já chega de falar do tempo e de dormir: faz-me parecer uma velha, tudo o que me falta é começar a enumerar as minhas doenças, né?

Hoje trago-vos a minha interpretação de um face chart da Illamasqua de Alex Box, Director Criativo da Illamasqua! Foi divertido como tudo fazer este look! Mas claro, já que tem de acontecer sempre qualquer coisa que me deixe maluca, a minha maquina, claro, não quis brincar. Por isso fiquei com as fotos do telemóvel. Raios-partam-isto. Melhor que nada, suponho! Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this absolute craziness of a look! I used a bunch of products, but none of them are Illamasqua… Wanna know why? ‘Cause I’m broke as heck, that’s why! I would love to have money to spend like that on every makeup product or brand I desired, but nope, stuck on the low end!!

So, I can tell you I used a no-name-brand palette for the white and black, a no-name-brand white pencil, a MAC black fluid line (the only MAC product that I use all the time, but it was offered to me as a gift x) ), a MIYO: OMG! Eyeshadow in GLOOM, a Bourjois: So Delicate velvet finish lip cream in nr 58: brun raffiné, a CATRICE eyeshadow in Go Charlie Brown!, and a no-name-brand eyelash set! Oh, I used a knock-off MAC foundation which mimics the Mach Master in 2.0 – which I actually quite like, it has such a good coverage! (see, I told you I was poor! Ha! Knock-offs… Tss tss)

Espero que tenham gostado desta loucura de look! Usei um monte de produtos, mas nenhum é da Illamasqua… Querem saber porquê? Porque estou lisa como tudo, é esse o porquê! Adorava ter dinheiro pa’ gastar assim em toda a maquilhagem ou marca que me apetece-se, mas nope, presa nas marcas baratas!!

Portanto posso dizer-vos que usei uma paleta sem marca para o preto e branco, um lápis branco sem marca, o black fluid line da MAC (o único produto da MAC que passo a vida a usar, e foi-me oferecido x) ), uma sombra MIYO: OMG! Eyeshadow in GLOOM, um lip cream da Bourjois: So Delicate velvet finish em nr 58: brun raffiné, uma sombra CATRICE em Go Charlie Brown!, e umas pestanas sem marca também! Ah, e usei uma base falsificação da MAC, que imita a linha Match Maker em 2.0 – que por acaso gosto bastante, tem uma cobertura óptima  (tão a ver, bem disse que era pobre! Ha! Falsificações… Tss tss)

MOTD #5 + GARNIER’s OLIA line review

Hello, lovely people!

It’s a sunny bright lovely day, and I’m in a bad mood. What better to turn that mood around than with a soft makeup? Well, there’s probably a lot of other options that would in fact make me feel better, such as: finding 200 euros in my pocket, being offered a job, winning a trip to Brazil, or even being given a puppy. But since all the other options are probably not going to happen today, soft makeup it is.

Olá, gente bonita!

Está um dia lindo e solarengo, e eu estou de mau humor. Que melhor maneira de mudar o meu humor do que com uma maquilhagem suave? Bem, provavelmente há muitas outras coisas que na verdade me variam sentir-me melhor, tais como: encontrar 200 euros no meu bolso, oferecerem-me um emprego, ganhar uma viajem ao Brasil, ou mesmo darem-me um cachorro. Mas como todas as outra opções não vão acontecer hoje, que se faça uma maquilhagem suave.

It really is the simplest makeup look in the world, I can guarantee you that much. Some foundation – not even concealer, ’cause mamma didn’t feel like it – translucent powder, some tangerine blush, black outline of the eye, mascara and pink lipstick. I mean… It’s like the makeup for who doesn’t do makeup. But well, it’s spring and a face full of makeup just felt weird for me. So here it is. A soft spring look… Hope you enjoy this look!

By the way, I dyed my hair the other day, I used the new GARNIER line, the one that looks ubber sexy, OLIA. You know? What do you think? I used the nr 6.6, which is a red dye, as you might be able to tell. I quite like the results, and I have to tell you, the fact that the dye didn’t smell of chemicals -at all- was such a nice thing – I mean, it kind of even smelled like strawberry! Surreal. The color is quite nice too. One thing that I didn’t like so much, was the packaging in terms of using it – because it is quite pretty, I’ll give you that. The fact that the dye applicator is round like a ball is not fun; it slips off the hands very easily because its whole surface is smooth. But that is my only concern with the line, because I think everything is lovely!

É mesmo a maquilhagem mais fácil do mundo, posso garantir-vos. Um pouco de base – nem sequer usei corrector, porque nem estava para isso – pó translucido, um blush tangerina, contorno do olho a preto, mascara e batom rosa. Quer dizer… É tipo a maquilhagem para quem não faz maquilhagem. Mas pronto, é primavera e uma cara cheia de maquilhagem pareceu-me estranho. Pronto, aqui está. Um look suave de primavera… Espero que gostem!

A propósito, pintei o meu cabelo no outro dia, usei a nova linha da GARNIER, aquela que é super sexy, OLIA. Conhecem? Que acham? Usei a cor nr 6.6, que é uma tinta vermelha, como podem ver. Gostei dos resultados, e tenho de dizer que o facto da tinta não cheirar a químicos -de todo- foi super agradável – quer dizer, até que quase cheirava a morangos! Surreal. A cor é muito bonita. Uma coisa que não gostei assim tanto foi a embalagem em relação ao seu uso – porque é bastante bonita, admito. O facto do aplicador de tinta ser redondo como uma bola não é divertido; escorrega da mão com uma enorme facilidade porque toda a sua superficie é lisa. Mas essa é a minha única irritação com a linha, porque tudo o resto é óptimo!

Makeup Portfolio – Portefólio de Maquilhagem

Hi guys!

I’m having an interview tomorrow for a full-time job in a KIKO store, so I had to organize my portfolio. So, I decided to do something a little different so I’d stand out in the crowd – it’s a group interview, so anything that might set me apart from the rest of the people is welcome, and aside from appearing with a parrot on my shoulder, this sounded like a good idea.

Anyways, this portfolio is a photo album sort of deal, but instead of a being little booklet I punched some holes in the photos and put them all together with a ring! Simple enough and to the point, right? Hope so.

Amanhã tenho uma entrevista para um trabalho full-time numa loja KIKO, por isso tive de organizar o meu portefólio. Então, decidi fazer algo diferente para me destacar na multidão – é uma entrevista de grupo, por isso qualquer coisa que me destaque do resto das pessoas é bem vindo, e para além de aparecer com um papagaio no ombro, isto pareceu.me boa ideia.

De qualquer das formas, este portefólio é uma especie de foto album, mas em vez de ser um livrinho, fiz uns furos nas fotos e juntei-as com uma argola! Fácil e directo ao assunto, não é? Espero que sim.

MOTD #4

Bunnies! I have been unable to use my blog, and I have no idea why. Nothing would work… But after some days of trying and failing, I made a little fix-it-dance, and it seems to be working now! Phew…!

So! Here’s my face with some makeup on – a bronz-y smokey eye and a stained orang-y lip. Even though I was only going to a family party, I felt like playing around with a smokey look, sooo… Don’t blame me, my creative juices had to come out somehow! Anyway, I don’t think anyone in the family noticed anything too dramatic, since I’m always wearing glasses anyway… So, if you wear glasses like me – go ahead and have fun. They block out most of the look anyway!

Coelhinhos! Não tenho conseguido mexer no blog, não faço ideia do porquê. Nada funcionava… Mas depois de uns dias a tentar, fiz uma dancinha-do arranjo, e parece que já funciona! Ufa…!

Portanto! Aqui está a minha cara com maquilhagem em cima – um smokey-eye bronze e uns lábios manchados alaranjados. Apesar de me estar a dirigir apenas para uma festa de família, apeteceu-me divertir-me com um look esfumado, por issooo… Não me culpem, a minha criatividade tinha de sair de alguma forma! De qualquer das formas, acho que ninguém da família reparou em alguma coisa super dramática, já que estou sempre se óculos… Por isso, se usam óculos como eu – divirtam-se, força. Eles bloqueiam a maior parte do look de qualquer das formas!

I didn’t use too many products. Catrice’s foundation, Infinite Matt, and powder, Prime and Fine, for my face, on my eyes I used the Sleek Palette in The original, as well as a MIYO brown color, and for the lips I used two no-name-brand lipsticks in orange and gold.

Não usei muitos produtos. Para a cara usei a base Catrice, Infinite Matt, e pó, Prime and Fine, nos olhos usei a paleta da Sleek, a The Original, como um castanho da MIYO, e para os lábios usei dois batons de marca branca em dourado e laranja.
